National wrestler Inam Butt and women’s cricket captain Bismah Maroof will carry the Pakistan flag at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022. In a statement issued by the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), Secretary General Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan named Inam and Bismah as flag bearers for the Pakistan contingent at the Commonwealth Games 2022. .Bismah, on the other hand, will be making her Commonwealth Games debut. Her contributions to the game of cricket in Pakistan, however, have earned her the opportunity to captain the Pakistan representation in the global event. Fatima, Bismah’s daughter who rose to prominence during this year’s ICC Women’s World Cup, will join her mother in the worldwide tournament.

“The Commonwealth Games Federation has kindly provided her with facilities not only to play but also to care for her daughter, Fatima, during the Games.” “We hold her athletic spirit, professionalism, and motherhood in the highest regard and pride,” the POA stated. It is worth noting that the 22nd Commonwealth Games will be held here from July 28 to August 8.
