Pakistan defeated Scotland 3-2 in Commonwealth Games hockey.
It is a very excellent day for Pakistan in the Commonwealth Games 2022, which are now taking place in Birmingham. In their third game on Wednesday, Pakistan’s hockey team defeated Scotland 3-2. After being defeated 4-1 by New Zealand in their last match, Pakistan responded with an excellent effort.
Scotland had a firm grasp on the game at the start of the game, in the first quarter. Scotland put their opponents under strain as Cammy Golden scored the game’s first goal in the ninth minute. Pakistan played well in the second quarter, doubling their advantage with back-to-back goals.
In the 22nd minute, Afraz equalised. The ball was then sent into the net by Abdul Shahid for the second goal.Pakistan maintained its lead in the second quarter, winning 2-1. The third quarter saw both teams battle to take the lead until Struan Walker scored an equaliser in the 38th minute. In the 55th minute, Rooman scored his third goal.
Pakistan maintained their lead throughout the match, resulting in a decisive victory for the country. Pakistan is now in fourth place in Pool A, with the same number of points. Australia topped Pool A after winning both matches. With four points apiece, South Africa is second and New Zealand is third. Pakistan will play Australia in their final group game today (August 4).
