Pak vs. NZ: Haris Sohail hurt before ODI series

Sources said Wednesday that Haris Sohail, a middle-order bowler for Pakistan, got hurt during the national team’s practice at Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Haris was kept on the national ODI team after the last series against New Zealand in January, but reports say he hurt his shoulder.

Haris fell down with Shadab Khan during outfield drills and hurt his shoulder. He went to a nearby hospital for scans. The results of scans will decide if he can play in the first ODI against New Zealand on April 27.

Haris made his return to international cricket earlier this year against the same team. Shahid Khan Afridi, who was the head picker at the time, asked him to come back to the team. In his first ODI match after a long break, he got 64 runs.

Later, he was meant to be part of Pakistan’s plans for this year’s ICC World Cup, since he was kept in the squad for a five-match ODI series at home that starts tomorrow in Rawalpindi.
